From an obscure and humble beginning in a storefront building on Robinson Street, this church was established in 1922 under the leadership of Reverend Glover Sapp. Livingston Street Church of God has pilgrimage to it's present location and spiritual status under the valiant and astute leadership of the following men of God: Rev. Glover Sapp, Rev. Leo Cooper(1925), Rev. N.S. Marcelle(1925-1938), Rev. George Wallace(1938-1949), Rev. Fred Spence(1949-1951), Rev. Hartman Poitier(1951-1957), Rev. F. B. Bell(1957-1958, 1965-1969), Rev. W. L. Ford(1958-1959), Rev. L. O. Wynn(1959-1960), Rev. K.P. Hardemon(1960-1965), Rev. C.C. Pratt(1969-1974), Rev. Thomas Chenault(1974-2002) and Rev. Quan Miller(2002-present).
The chartered members were as follows: James and Ella Clemons, Will and Fannie Hicks, Willie and Eltruett McClendon, Fannie Banks, Maggie Cooks, Barbara Giles, Mary Harris, Jeanner O'Neal, and Lula Washington.
Since beginning, the handiwork of God has continually manifested itself upon Livingston Street Church of God. In 1924, the Board of Trustees: Will Hicks, James Clemons and Willie McClendon, purchased land and built a small wooden church called Pepper Hill on the existing location site which is presently known as "910"...910 West Livingston Street, Orlando, Florida.
All through the years, God continued to bless and added families to the church: the Andersons, Banks, Bells, Bounts, Browns, Bryants, Chambers, Chenaults, Darbys, Davis, Generets, Griffins, Hawes, Hestle, Lucas, McGees, Miles, Sellers, Wrights and many more. These families were the very cornerstones of our existence today. Through the prayers and support of the families, the church established an organizational structure to minister to the needs of the church membership and community.
