Bishop Dr. Thomas E. Chenault began his twenty eight year tenure as pastor of Livingston Street Church of God in 1974. During his pastorate, he was found to be a man of honor, trust, love, integrity, fortitude, courage, commitment, compassion, humility: a workman who was "never ashamed as he rightly divided the work of truth". He challenged his call as a Pastor and noble servant, never being intimidated by the gifts or potential of others...a plethera of ministries has started under his devoted leadership.
While at Livingston Street Church of God, he was a man with a plan and a purpose, also with a vision and a determination to bring that vision into reality. With rapid and phenomenal church growth, he saw the need for adequate accommodations and parking, therefore he rallied the church to "buy up the ghetto". The church supported his vision by purchasing over $1 million dollars of property in and around our current facilities so that the Kingdom of God could be advanced within the community. It is so noted that due to him being a former instructor at Jone High School, Orlando, Florida, he was so influential in getting the students to attend church, the name "910" was originated by those students and adopted into the church history. Due to his leadership, Livingston Street Church of God is known world-wide by many as "There's No Ten, Like 910"!
In August 2002, it was a most historical and deserved honor for God to allow Bishop Chenault to move to another level in ministry; the Church of God International Office in Cleveland, Tennessee, appointed him as a the Administrative Bishop in the State Executive Office in Cocoa, Florida. On September 29, 2002, Pastor Quan Miller, elders and church family bestowed upon Bishop Thomas Chenault, the proclamation of Pastor Emeritus of Livingston Street Church of God due to his long and faithful service as pastor.
